1210 km – The Space Between Us” is a theatre play, which shows different problems of our surroundings and the whole world. The main problem shown was the Brexit. The play is also about people who have different backgrounds or come from different countries or cultures.

The play was shown by two different theatre groups, one from Glasgow and one from Berlin. First, the actors didn’t know each other and only communicated through Skype. Both groups were collecting ideas how they could structure the play. When they first met they exchanged their ideas and put them together in a script.

I remember a scene in the play when the audience got biscuits to share with someone. The meaning behind it was to share something you like with someone else.

Another scene was showing a girl in a blue dress who was singing “ I will always love you”. Some of the actors came on stage with stars of the European flag and started dancing while she was singing. The meaning of the scene was that even though the Brexit is going to separate Great Britain from the EU, Scotland will always feel like a part of Europe and will always love the EU and its people. This was supported by different lights.

Overall, I really liked and enjoyed the play because the Brexit and conflicts in general are big topics in today`s world. The fact that the actors were our age made me feel even closer to the play.
